Location: Winston-Salem, NC (with potential satellite clinic involvement)

Brenner FIT (Families In Training) is an outpatient clinic serving children ages 2-18 with a family-centered, weight-neutral approach that emphasizes sustainable lifestyle changes over calorie and portion restriction.
We're seeking an Advanced Practice Practitioner (APP) to provide medical care for patients in our Metabolic Syndrome Clinic, support medication management for pediatric obesity, and help develop a cutting-edge virtual care model. You'll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, effective and kind care to families.
- Provide direct patient care and augment physicians' ability to provide patient care by functioning as an integrated member of the Brenner FIT team. This will be an outpatient role Monday-Friday 8-5.

Specific daily duties to include:
This provider will have a focus on care and management of patients seen in the Metabolic Syndrome and Prevention clin i c.
Additional roles will include:
- Medication check in visits to help faculty manage patients taking anti-obesity medications. This will include patients in the Metabolic Syndrome and Prevention clinic, as well as Brenner FIT clinic.
- Development of a virtual pediatric weight management component with Brenner FIT. This will be done in conjunction with Advocate efforts to expand virtual obesity care, so timeline is uncertain presently.
- As a valued member of our healthcare team, the APP will :
- Play a key role in team-focused patient care, conducting thorough examinations and evaluations in medical visits
- Use medical decision-making skills to determine appropriate patient care plans
- Collaborate with the larger team when needed for effective team-based care, including coordination of sub-specialty referrals that are key to this program.
- Order and interpret laboratory studies and diagnostic procedures
- Explain the necessity, preparation, nature and anticipated effects of scheduled diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to the patient and their family
Other duties
- Management of clinical in-basket tasks which require provider evaluation such as patient calls, and My Atrium Health messages
- Development of patient education resources
- Assist in QI and protocol development within the section
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
( primary care certification NPs (PNP-PC, FNP) and PAs)
Physician Assistant (PA) Requirements:
- Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant Program; Master's Degree preferred
- Current North Carolina Medical Board Medical License, Certified by NCCPA
- Pediatric Experience preferred
- BLS and ACLS certification required
Nurse Practitioner (NP) Requirements:
- Graduation from accredited Nurse Practitioner Master's Program, Master's degree or higher required
- Current North Carolina Board of Nursing Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner license
- Board certified as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner by AANP or ANCC
- Pediatric Experience preferred
- Board certified in NP specialty
