APP III Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit

This position is for an advanced provider who will work closely with our cardiothoracic surgeons and critical care medicine to provide care to our patients in the cardiothoracic intensive care unit. These patients may be both preoperative or postoperative.

The APP III will be responsible for primary care of our cardiothoracic patients, managing both the preoperative optimization, if needed, and in the immediate postoperative period. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to titration, addition, and discontinuation of vasoactive medications, procedures including central venous catheters, arterial lines, and chest tubes, in addition to other possible procedures as needed. This APP III would also be responsible for responding to MET calls or CODE BLUE on the cardiothoracic patients.

The cardiothoracic intensive care APP III will work directly under the supervision of the cardiothoracic surgeons. The goal of this position is to continue and improve our standard of excellence we provide both our patients and family members.
