Description
Join the largest rheumatology practice in upstate New York and its Providers and support staff dedicated to providing the best patient experience. We offer onsite infusion to support our providers and patients. Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
- Performs comprehensive and problem focused history and physical exams.
- Formulates a differential diagnosis and establish a working diagnosis.
- Interprets and correlates lab and imaging results.
- Formulates a treatment plan exercising judgment on problems requiring consultation, referral or evaluation by the supervising MD.
- Performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures including joint and bursa aspirations/injections, injections of tendons and trigger points.
- Orders and interprets diagnostic imaging, i.e. x-rays, DEXA, MRI, CT, bone scans as well as EKG’s.
- Orders, prescribes, dispenses and administers medications.
- Completes accurate patient coding for effective billing, maintains accurate and detailed patient medical reports, and maintains inventory of medical supplies and instruments.
- Serves as a resource and team leader during clinical shifts to ensure the smooth flow of patient processing, treatment and discharge including patient triaging.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Qualifications and skill needed to be successful in this position:
- Registered Nurse Practitioner is required, as well as valid NYS license and registration.
- Valid and current DEA license.
- Knowledge of the information and techniques needed to diagnose and treat diseases and deformities. This includes symptoms, treatment alternatives, drug properties and interactions, and preventive healthcare measures.
- Knowledge of Medical Practice software (EHR), Windows, and Microsoft Office
