Work Schedule:
100% FTE, Monday- Friday typically between the hours of 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. No weekends, holidays, or call.
As an Advanced Practice Provider, you'll play an integral role in our inpatient care teams by providing high-quality, cost-effective care to patients.
We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant to:
Conduct psychiatric assessments of patients with acute and/or chronic mental illness in inpatient and Emergency Department (ED) settings. This includes the assessment of the patient’s psychosocial, cognitive, developmental, and medical status. Develop recommendations for treatment and communicate with the primary treatment team. Work collaboratively with the ED and inpatient medical/surgical teams, ED Mental Health Clinicians, and sub-specialties including health psychology, AODA, and geriatrics. Provide Telepsychiatry consultation to East Madison Hospital Emergency and Medical-Surgical Units. See patients and family members as needed for follow-up psychiatric care that can include medication management, non-pharmacological treatment planning for management of behaviors, bedside supportive therapy, collateral information gathering, team treatment planning meetings, management of acute agitation, and cognitive assessments

Requirements
Education:
Minimum –
If Nurse Practitioner: Master’s or Doctorate’s degree from accredited Nursing Program.
If Physician Assistant: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from accredited PA Program.
Licenses and Certifications:
Minimum – State of Wisconsin NP or PA licensure
If Nurse Practitioner*:
Active RN and APRN certifications and licenses, including prescriptive authority, in state(s) of practice AND Active board certification as a NP in area of clinical practice. These may include the following: Psychiatric-Mental Health. If Physician Assistant*:
Active PA license, including prescriptive authority, in state(s) of practice AND Active PA board certification Specialization degree in psychiatry (CAQ-PSY) All Nurse Practitioner and Physician Assistant applicants must have*: Active DEA license or ability to apply for such license prior to or upon hire.
*Active license or eligibility to obtain active licensure in state of practice. This may include licensing in Wisconsin and other state(s) of practice.
