At Silver Falls Dermatology, it’s our mission to provide high level care takes us to some of the most beautiful and exciting parts of the country, and gives our providers the opportunity to work and settle in truly remarkable communities.
We also offer one of the most unique opportunities in all of medicine – we let providers tell us where they want to go.
With several locations in the Pacific Northwest, we have the ability to position a new provider in an existing location, or open a new office in a town with demonstrated need. Oregon and Washington’s mild climate and drivability make most of our offices accessible from urban and rural communities alike, providing pleasant commuting options and promoting work-life balance.
Our goal is to nurture long-term relationships between our providers and the communities they serve, by making sure they live where they work, and love where they live.

Company History
Silver Falls Dermatology was founded in 2006 by John Young, MD and has grown to 24 locations in Oregon and Washington.
A Board-Certified Dermatologist, Dr. Young was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana and earned his bachelor’s degree at Louisiana State University, where he was valedictorian of 2000 graduates. He earned his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine on a US Air Force scholarship, became a flight surgeon for the Air Force, and was deployed to the United Arab Emirates. He was the youngest officer in twenty years to be accepted into the dermatology residency program in San Antonio.
At its various locations, Silver Falls Dermatology provides dermatology, allergy-immunology, Mohs surgery and vein services. Silver Falls is also the first private practice in the Pacific Northwest to host a dermatology residency, and is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).
