We are driven by the commitment to improve frontline patient care for Saskatchewan people, and we are working together to better coordinate health services across the province to ensure patients receive high quality, timely health care, wherever they live in Saskatchewan. Opening September 29, 2019, the new Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital will offer state-of-the-art equipment and facilities for children, mothers and families from across our province. Centrally located on the University of Saskatchewan campus in Saskatoon, our new children’s hospital will offer neonatal intensive care, pediatric intensive care, general pediatrics, pediatric emergency and ambulatory services. Maternal services will include labour and delivery, antepartum and postpartum care. The 176-bed facility will provide the highest quality of care and put Saskatchewan at the forefront of research and innovation. Our new NICU will have the capacity to expand to 48 rooms, including five twin rooms. All patient rooms will be private rooms, with space for parents to stay with their babies, family sleep rooms which are spaces where parents can go for quiet time away from their child’s room, multiple private family spaces, and a kitchen area.
