We started our hospital medicine practice in 2001. From the beginning, we set out to design a great hospitalist practice. Our aim was to bring together the most talented physicians who took pride in their care of patients and had a commitment to improving outcomes.
While Sound has grown significantly since 2001, our vision of building a great practice is unchanged. A great practice starts by offering a better career model, designed around our vision of improving quality and lowering the cost of care for patients in the communities we serve. Central to our model is a manageable workload, ensuring our providers can deliver on our vision. We ensure providers have the time needed with each patient to impact outcomes. But, a great practice is more than a manageable workload. In our practice, we live our core values of quality, service, teamwork, integrity and innovation.
Company History
Dr. Robert Bessler founded Sound Physicians in 2001, and as Sound’s chief executive officer, he continues to provide strategic vision and leadership to the organization. From a startup to a thriving organization, Dr. Bessler’s vision is to be the leader at improving quality and lowering cost of healthcare for patients in communities throughout the U.S. He ensures the organization seamlessly partners with hospitals, community providers and payers to drive meaningful performance improvements throughout the acute care episode.
As a physician leader, Dr. Bessler is dedicated to creating a better career opportunity for providers while advancing quality and satisfaction outcomes for patients. A better career starts with manageable workloads then arming physicians with the tools, resources and education required to make a measurable difference in outcomes. From the onset, Dr. Bessler invested in physician development to ensure physicians and advanced care providers are prepared to become effective clinical leaders.
